  8. to tell me a bit about yourself, where
  9. you live, family, study, scene? etc.

  12. Dages" and I live in Germany/
  13. Karlsruhe. I live at home together 
  14. with my great family. It's really 
  15. funny at home :). My scene-career 
  16. started as musician in the year 1994 
  17. with a old and dead pc-group called 
  18. "The Cross" (hi Raytrayza). After
  19. this nice beginning i created "Phase
  20. Distortion" together with Juice, and
  21. that's it.
  22. Now I'm the organizer (and of course
  23. musician) in PHD. My real job is a 
  24. kind of trader in the sector 
  25. "communication".

  28. get the idea to start a "module group"
  29. like Phase Distortion?

  32. scene before we created Phase^D, so it
  33. was a new idea to make a "music crew".
  34. I saw that there are so many musicians
  35. without a demo-group out there, so I
  36. wanted to create a music-only-crew. 
  37. A short while later I noticed that 
  38. there are so many music-groups on pc,
  39. and I believe that we are not the 
  40. first music-group, unfortunately. :)) 
  41. PHD is an older group than Mono, but
  42. Mono were the first to release their
  43. mods in lha archives on Amiga.

  48. eachothers' members? It seems a bit
  49. silly to me, after all it's just a
  50. question of which diz is in the
  51. archive... ;)

  54. more connections to other music-crews.
  55. The people can see that we are all
  56. friendly, if we releasing mods from 
  57. other groups. ;)

  82. musicians in scene, so i think yes, 
  83. that's the reason. 
  84. Maybe another reason is that we have
  85. more techno-fans as non-techno-fans.
  86. We never forget our legends like 
  87. Jester, Lizardking, Mr. Man and so
  88. one, though.

  91. neverthless has its basis on the AMIGA
  92. scene. Why release pc-xm's onto the
  93. AMIGA scene?

  96. homebase, but our future goes more and
  97. more in pc-direction. The reason is, 
  98. that the world of multichannel sounds
  99. better as the tiny 4 channel mods. 
  100. Thats the fault of our old Commodore. 
  101. With an 8 Bit Audio Chip we are badly
  102. punished.
  103. Hmm, OctaMed SS is a good way to 
  104. compose multichannel-stuff on amiga, 
  105. but would you pay for a tracker ca. 
  106. $120?
  107. Commercial Soft will be never a 
  108. standard on amiga. Fastracker and 
  109. Screamtracker on pc are freeware.

  113. such a simple manner, is it also
  114. thought to be a way of gaining more
  115. fame in the scene? After all the
  116. module is the only thing you present,
  117. there is no fancy code nor graphics to
  118. lead the mind away from it...

  122. Anyway, every week, we release 2 
  123. modules, mostly different styles and
  124. author, so we have variety.  
  125. But "pssssst", this idea is our 
  126. secret!
  127. For the moment we don't have any
  128. productions with code or gfx, YES, but
  129. not in future, because in 2-3 weeks
  130. our first real musicdisk will be out. 
  131. And another fine musicdisk is in the
  132. making. 
  133. We have some other small projects, but
  134. some of us are very lazy... :)  
  135. The best example is myself! :)

  137. »CL5:CC:»CL4: Could you explain to me how you 
  138. get the modules from your guest 
  139. composers. Do you ask them or do they
  140. ask you?

  142. »CL1:PR:»CL0: I asked them, but there are
  143. also some guys who asked me or Juice.
  144. Most of the people i ask are fucking
  145. friendly, so its easy to organize some
  146. great tunes from the guests.

  148. »CL5:CC:»CL4: I believe that PHD and Mono are
  149. the leading module groups on the scene
  150. today. How do you feel about the
  151. competition? Hopefully both groups can
  152. exist peacefully together?!

  154. »CL1:PR:»CL0: There is no competition, because
  155. Mono have got their own style, and we
  156. have our own style. I'm in firm 
  157. contact with most of the Mono-members,
  158. and i think we will always have a 
  159. peaceful life together. (Hi h0l)

  162. groups who are more specific in the
  163. choice of style (Black Sista etc.).
  164. Do you think that is that the way to
  165. go?

  167. »CL1:PR:»CL0: We have many musicians in the 
  168. Amiga scene, and some of these 
  169. musicians are good, talented and in
  170. no group, because we don't have enough
  171. demo-groups in our small Amiga scene. 
  172. The leading demo-crews are able to 
  173. choose the very best musicians in the 
  174. scene, so there is no room for the 
  175. others. This is one reason, why I
  176. think that "Music-Groups" are 
  177. important.

  179. »CL5:CC:»CL4: Tell me about the members of Phase
  180. Distortion, music styles, etc. etc.
  181. Surely we can expect some new PHD 
  182. goodies soon?!

  184. »CL1:PR:»CL0: Our members, hmm, i can say, that
  185. we have many different styles in our 
  186. group. Such as LINUS, our Funk-Master,
  187. one of the best funk-composers on 
  188. Amiga i think. Then TEIS and 
  189. RAYTRAYZA, our two junglist composers.
  190. I hope for more releases from these 
  191. guys!. Another one is BASS-CADET, his 
  192. tunes sounds really experimental and 
  193. he is very talented. I should not 
  194. forget our USA Team "HILLIE+SKYFUSION"
  195. with their upcoming releases. Our 
  196. quiet "AIRON" is one of the experts
  197. of us, so he is our old iron :). Ehmm, 
  198. our musician called "FBY" is nowhere, 
  199. no releases from him , nothing, but i 
  200. hope he come back from army. Oeh, and
  201. our 2 new musicians called "DEXTER" 
  202. and "RONNY" are new bloood in our 
  203. castle. The Main-Figure is "JUICE", 
  204. our distributor and techno-musician.
  205. We also have some good helpers, but I
  206. think, its not so important to write
  207. something about these nice guys.

  209. -ed.]
  210. Last but not least, my lazy self, my
  211. job is to organize this club of 
  212. brothers.

  214. At the moment our organizing plan is
  215. full of work. The next step is to 
  216. release our first musicdisk called 
  217. "Symbolix" with some music by me. 
  218. After this spreading-time, I will get
  219. time for our new musicdisk called 
  220. "Depth Phase". Of course, our normal
  221. mod-releasing (every week 2 mods) 
  222. will continue.
